Those with pacesetter LTs... (interesting find)

I bought the LTs awhile back, pacesetters. Most likely one of the first sets.

The primary tubes go through the flange, and are welded on the head side of the flange. They then took a mill and milled the flange around the port entrance so that it would seal, but the welds are the highest points so it should give some good pressurre right along the ports.

Anyways, my buddy just put a set of Pacesetters on his car a few weeks ago. They changed the flange style on his. They are made like hookers. Welded on the other side of the flange. On his, the entire flange seals (not just the welds around the ports). They also added a nifty little trademark like the hookers have, cept it says pacesetter From what i could remember by looking at his, and not having mine in front of me, the pipe layout looks the same. They do give better clearance for everything IMO though over my old hooker LTs.

Who has what kind? Anyone know why they switched, sealing problems?

Mine are welded on the inside of the flange and haven't had any issues of leaking. I even used the cheap gaskets that came with them. Also, I believe mine has a badge on it saying Pacesetter.

i bought a set not too long after you atljar and they were the same as yours welded on the head side. I always thought it was making a better seal like that. It pushed on the gasket right around the port. I used the gaskets that came with them and they worked fine. Interesting find tho.

Mine are like that Jared....6 1/2 months since the install, and no leaks (Fel-Pro 1406's, Stage 8 locking bolts)

We just put a new set on my freinds T/A and they are welded insid eon the flange, they are much better up top than the hookers I have. They are still sealed with the cheap crapy gaskets that come with them, I was amazed that with this motor they didnt blow out in a few days!!!, but they are still holding.

I know when these Hookers are toast I will be putting Pacesetters back on with a different exhaust set-up.
