Those with double roller timing chains...

I ordered a cloyes double roller and a csi WP from Jegs. Is there anything else I need to do out of the ordinary to use the double roller? I heard that we have to do away with the crank position sensor? Is that true? Either way, I have OBDI which I am pretty sure does not utilize a CPS.

Answers anybody? TIA

96-97's have obd2. You can leave the sensor in the cover. You will also need to grind on the cover so the chain will clear.

I have an OBDI PCM though... how much do I have to grind off the cover??? Something I can do with sandpaper or do I need a dremel? I need to grind some of the water pump housing too for that CSI pump. How can I do that without a dremel?

when i was helping a buddy with his cam install he put grease on the chain and then stuck the cover on and looked to see where it was touching. He dremeled the areas that touched.

I greased my chain, bolted down timing cover, then removed cover. Then took blue chalk dust and sprinkled it on timing cover. Wherever grease was, the chalk stuck and made it easy to see where material had to be removed from
