Those with coated Pacesetter LTs, Do I need heat shielding?

The driver's side looks good and I don't believe it is close enough to anything to melt/burn anything under the hood. But, the passenger side is a tight fit, and I was wondering if any of y'all put any of the heat shielding material around the A/C box or anything else for that matter on the passenger side, or anywhere under the hood?

Thanks.

You gotta put them in practically vertical if I rememer right. Its been about 2 years now.

I dont have any heat shielding and havent really had any big issues. Just make sure you dont have any wires directly touching them and you should be fine.

I used some cause a part of my harness was touching the header on the passenger side...

Do ya'll use 4 or 6 bolts to hold in the pacesetters. The inside bolts at the exhaust primary for piston 1 and 7 require some serious binding to get the bolts in. Any tips?

I haven't put teh passenger side in yet, I'll tell you a little later how it goes.

You must use all the bolt holes...and no, I didn't use any heat shielding. In one week it will be two years that I've had mine installed.

you got that crap right. i had the same problem. so for now until i get ready to crank up the car, i only have 5 bolts in the driver's side. bolt #2 from the front tries to go in slanted and the head of it hit against the primary's 90 deg elbow.

Back the header off and get the bolt in place.

tried that, then it throws some of the other bolt locations off just enough to do the same thing on another one. i'll defeat it tho.

use a short 3/4 inch bolt for the inside bolt for the #1 cylinder. If you use 1 inch bolts, you will have to tighten that bolt first with the header loose, I used a 3/4 inch bolt(im talking about the grip length, no the total length) and It wasnt all that hard to get the bolt to thread with all the header bolts tightened. They only downside is that you have to use an open end wrench, so you have the risk of slightly stripping out the bolt head, you MUST use a hex and not a 12 point. Unless you want to ruin a 3/8s box end wrench by grinding down the outside so it will fit next to the header tube.

I didn't use any heat shielding, I did secure a couple of wire harnesses away from the headers though with zip ties. It has been like that for almost a year now with no issues.

Take the pass side motor mount bolt up and twist the motor until it slides in from the top. Thats how I did mine,a nd it was easier to get the pass side in than the drivers side.
