Those with Cloyes Double Roller Chains Please Inside!!!!!
Has anyone with the Cloyes double roller had any problems with the cam sprocket not lining up with the bolt holes on the cam? It seems the bolt holes on the cam are narrower.
Re: Those with Cloyes Double Roller Chains Please Inside!!!!!
i had issues at 1st with mine lining up but it turned out to be the position of the cam in relation the the cam gear that was holding me back
keep fanagling with it and it should eventually line up. it took me about an hr to finally figure it out

Easiest Way.
Put crank at #1/6 tdc.
Put cam dowel pin at like 5 oclock.
Put crank gear on, and timing chain.
Put cam gear on (but not on dowel yet) and line up dot to dot
You can then put the cam dowel through the gear, and "rotate" the chain and the cam up to the right position with the cam pin being at 3.

As long as you have the correct one.. believe its #3145... it should go on there. I think I had problems with it too but eventually everything lined up. Those chains are built so tight that its hard to line everything up all at once.

Thats exactly what happened. Guy sold me the wrong P/N. He sold me the 3100 and not the 3145. Thanks for the replies guys.
