Thinking of building a 355. What parts?
As the title states, I am planning to build a 355 out of a 97 block that I have sitting around. I am planning on sending it to the machine shop to convert the block for a 4 bolt splayed mains. What I want to know since I am on a budget, what are some good parts for a 355 bottom end for street/ strip use. Please be specific if you can! Thanks and any info is greatly appreciated.

Well budget and 4 bolt conversion don't go together... what do you want to do with this motor power wise and we can go from there.
From your website it looks like you want to put N2O on this puppy. Depending on how much HP you make NA and how much juice you want to throw on it will determine what you should put on this thing.

Just look at my website..my 355 has been holding strong for a looong time. On my old heads it made 505 rwhp and 565 rwtq. Its still a two bolt main block also. Like stated above..you need to decide what exactly your going for. If its a street motor with a 150 shot a 2 bolt main with arp main studs/rod bolts you should be fine if your motor builder knows what he is doing.

I am planning on running 400rwhp N/A, and then I will throw a 150 shot of nitrous. I also want the 4 bolt main in case I do step it up a notch down the road. I just want a bad a$$ street car that I can drive to the track and back home at night.

Well the stock crank is pretty beefy so you can usually just polish the journals and balance it with the rest of the parts and you will be ready to rock.
A set of I Beam forged rods like a Eagle or Scat would work, but if you want to "step it up a notch" a set of Eagle or Scat H Beams would rock.
I'm a big fan of Mahle pistons so that's what I would use in your buildup.
Other than that the proper clearances and throwing some studs in there should make you good to go.
