thinking bout porting heads, who to choose?

blew a head gasket and got the heads off now. I might be able to come up with some extra cash if someone can recommend anybody. I've heard of Lyoyd, can someone give me some price and perfomce examples?? I was thinking in the range of 4-500 or so. Not sure what that will get me, but now is a good time. Everyone throw out some suggestions please!!

From what I've heard around my area, is that you have to have a special bench to work on them. Cleaning up heads is not that much of a problem and is not too expensive. However, getting a shop to port the stock heads on the special bench costs quite a bit. I heard it was around 1500-2000 to port the heads on an LT1. You might as well buy the new Edelbrock performer heads for the LT1 with everything on them already--bolt on and go--for about 2000 (I think).

I also would reccomend Lloyd. I went from 360 RW to 412 RW with his heads and a tune on a 94 z M6. Like stated above he is a stand up guy and knows his stufffff.

It was very hard for me to find anyone that "sounded" like they knew what they were doing or at least wanted to explain it alittle.
Lloyd is very familiar with LT1 heads and price is right too.

SteveZ Z-28 1500-2000 to port the heads on an LT1. You might as well buy the new Edelbrock performer heads for the LT1 with everything on them already--bolt on and go--for about 2000 (I think).

For that 1500-2000 you would get a hell of a lot more power than those edelbrock heads. I would be willing to bet atleast 15 or 20 more HP than the edelbrocks.

Later,
JoMo

These are my flow numbers from Lloyd. I gave him bare heads and I am getting back assembled heads ready to bolt on for hundreds less than 1500. Drop him an email. His user name here is Nighttrain66.
