Thinking about throwing h/c on
Thinking about throwing h/c on
I have a set of MTI Heads and intake, fresh 985 Comps, Crane Gold 1.6 Rockers all just sitting here. The heads need a basic valve job and they would be good, 2.02s and 1.6s in them. My opti has about 17K miles, could just replace the cap and rotor if needed, buy a used cam and get all the gaskets from Thunder. Main thing is, my intake seal leaks and a seal up front leaks, so if I have the stuff apart to fix, why not? One of my buddies was even saying yanking it, do the h/c on an engine stand replace all the seals on this motor and it would be good to go. Either that or save this stuff and just spray till I can put a bottom end in it, keep bulding the suspension and rest of drivetrain so when motor time comes, it'll be solid. Dunno, doing long tubes here in a few weeks, if I break a bolt and the heads have to come off, then I dont want to put stock stuff back on.
Re: Thinking about throwing h/c on
After doing a H/C swap with the motor in the car, then later having to drop the motor out of the bottom for removal I would recommend you: Drop the motor out of the bottom, swap the heads and cam then re-install. It's so freaking easy you can even install the motor with the headers on it and everything.
