They weren't kidding...

GMMG with Long Tubes sounds unreal. Easily the best mod so far, SOTP meter registered a huge gain, the car absolutely screams in the mid to upper RPM range now. Ran my friend's Intake+exhaust 02WS6 last night for a few fun runs and I am pleased with how close I kept it (considering he threw down 320rwhp I'm not being too picky). Can't wait to get this thing on a dyno to see what I'm putting down.

BTW anyone have clips of an ORY on this setup? Cats dont bother me, but I'm just genuinely curious. Sorry for the seemingly pointless post I'm just mildly excited...

I would keep the cats on. I've never heard the GMMG with out cats but i heard my friends loudmouth with out them. It sounded like Azz. I still remember when i did headers i couldn't believe how much harder it pulled. The first mod i did that was a SOTP gain.

Trust me, leave the cats on man... Although a little quieter overall, the tone is much nicer with them in there than without...I've heard it both ways on an LT1 and nothing is better/deeper/meaner than the GMMG & header combo w/ cats...

IMO you are wrong. I have two friends who both have LT1's, both with flowmasters. They both got their cats cut off, and it made their cars sound way better.

I'd need to hear one without cats in person to decide for myself. As it sounds now I'm quite surprised with the cats.

Well, IMO you are wrong. J/K! It's all about personal preference though...If you like that raspy, poppy, unrefined sound, then more power to you... That's what happens when you run a catless Y-pipe on our 4th gens...Flowmaster sounds horrible without cats to me, but not quite as bad as a Borla or Loudmouth...

I'll leave the cats on my car...

I have the American Thunder, LT's, no cats and a GTP-6 which sounds amazing.....but I'll have to agree, GMMG sounds unreal.

Get a sound clip and post it up!

Re: They weren't kidding...

Congrats. I would've been in the same boat but my deal fell through on a barely used one. Now it looks like I'll have to buy new. Hope you get a sound clip I wanna hear it. Did you buy new? What did you have to do the driver side hanger that I keep hearing about?

Congrats again!

Re: They weren't kidding...

I actually didn't have to do anything to the driver's side hangar. I bought the system new and it fit great out of the box. IIRC there was another GP over on LS1tech for the system, not sure if it's over tho . I sent a clip to LS1sounds, we'll see if it goes up and if so I'll put the link here.
