Are these Type R lifters or not?

part number 875-16 are listed for the LS1 engine.
part number 850-16 are listed for the LT1 engine

Many people say that the 875-16s are the comp r. Why would all the internet vendors list them as LS1 specific. Arent ls1 lifters and lt1 lifters interchangeable?

Any ideas on why companies list them as ls1 specific?

ya, to confuse the **** out of us.
I have ran into some parts that are for LS1 and LT1 but only give the part # in the LS1 section. Just have to call and ask. Most times they can't explain why, better off asking the manufactor

Easy way to explain it..

There's no such thing as a Type-R lifter... or IMO even an "R" lifter.. that's just what someone decided to call an 875 Pro-Magnum hydraulic roller lifter to get attention.

http://www.compcams.com/catalog/258.html

Nothing "R" about it.

Now Phil... you know that "R" = "R"oller, right?

And "Type-R" means serious fast.... if you see that sticker on something you might as well drive her home.

Then the 850's would be "R" lifter's as well

I think it was more a misnomer than people identifying a roller lifter, IMO anyway

I was told that when(if) the Rs are put back into circulation, they would have a different PN. This was also told to me by a Comp Cams rep over a year ago when he said "production will resume in a few months."

Either way, it'd be safe to assume that the PN will change because of a different manufacturer.
