are these 383 machine shop costs the norm?
just curious after reading a post on here. i paid around $1200 for:
.30 overbore
clearancing for stroker
line bore
hot tank, magnaflux
drill and tap for for splayed 4 bolt
freeze plugs & cam bearings
file fit rings
assemble shortblock
what kind of cash did you guys pay?
$1200 seemed like alot until i started typing all of the things they did down.

Re: are these 383 machine shop costs the norm?
That sounds about right. My friends 436 stroker was right at 1000 for everything you mentioned except the splayed mains conversion. Machine work ain't cheap is it?
Re: are these 383 machine shop costs the norm?
That seems about right. Mine was 900 assembled and balanced. But that was for a 355 not a 383. So add the extra price for the clearancing etc and it would come out about 1200.
