Is there a way to reset the computer?

I think someone reprogrammed mine with a power programmer. I kinda think they didnt know what they were doing. I'm running 14.6@100 on my g-tech. Sometimes it bogs off the line witch makes me think its a timimg issue and that someone screwed with the timing on the programmer. I know the throttle blades are dirty, I'm gonna clean em but I dunno how much difference that makes. The plugs and wires are new. Shouldnt I be running around 14.0?

Well it depends on the mileage of the car and how well its taken care of. Not to mention the skill of the driver(no offense) And there is also the fact that we hear of some people having freak cars that are helluva fast and some that can be turds. You are also grapping a time from a g-tech....that isnt that reliable. But that bogging of the line sounds very concerning. Auto or maunual?

Its auto, its wierd, it doesnt always do it. I dont get any codes or anything but it sounds like its gonna stall out when I punch it from a stop. It had bad hesitation when I first drove it and they replaced the o2's. It has 126k miles.

Does it ever cut out any in the higher rpms? Im thinking it may be your fuel pump. Has the fuel pump been replaced?

clean the tb and then buy some "seafoam" at NAPA and clean the carbon out of the rest of the engine.

do a search for seafoam and you'll find out what to do

No it runs fine other than that. It idles smooth, pulls hard, etc. If I take off easy and then punch it, its fine. Another problem I have is after I drive it in the rain it wont start the next day till it dries out. So maybe this is an issue with the opti, I dunno. I changed the wires and the prongs on the opti look nice and shiny.

You can clear the ses and codes by disconnecting the battery and or pulling the PCM fuse. Can you reset the programing....not without reprograming it. You cant just disconnect the battery and reset the computer back to stock programing. It requires reprograming.

If you really think your computer has been reprogrammed and you want to know it has then you could take it to a dealership and they should be able to rell you if it has been reprogrammed. Do you know rpm your rev limiter kicks in? Stock is 5200 (or 5800 I forget somebody confirm) that is a comon thing people change when reprograming. Im guessing your computer is not reprogramed. Were there any mods done to the car when you bought it?

It will shift around 6000 when I run it hard. It shifts really hard too. Thats why I think its been tinkered with. It doesnt have any mods other than that that I know of. I bought it from a small car lot.

I cleaned the tb and made sure the tube under the intake elbow was in tight. I think that was falling out, what does it do anyways? Its closed at the bottom. Anyways I didnt have any hesitation today and after 3 runs my best was 14.77 It could be my technique I dunno. I spin all the way to second gear. I've tried going easier on it too and get about the same time. I'm new to drag racing so I guess I just need practice.

I'll have to check the air in the tires, take all my stuff out and wait till its down to 1/4 tank of gas and try again.

100mph on a stock 1995 is about right. It is the ET that is high. Post your incremental times. Those might help...

If you have an issue when things are "wet" then you probably have a problem with the opti, coil, wiring, or something electrical.

sounds like they hosed up your tuning. bone stock Z28 LT1 is a low 14 car. I only have Moroso CAI, open Borla and Nitto Extreme Drags and run 13.44 and I'm a 6spd. So yeah something is funky with your tune dude. I'd consider a good proshop with a wideband dyno, let them tune it for you, about 200 bucks but well worth it.

What kind of 60ft times are you putting down?
