Is their anyway to make my car have true duels?
you cant move the cats. thats "truely" legal. nor can you add cats, therefore a true dual system fully legal on a pre 96 car is out of the question from the bat. and on the 96+ you have to keep them in the same spot from factory
who cares about those strict Cali laws tho?

the cat rule is federal, not based on state by state. regardless of where you are, you're pretty much f*cked if a cop looks under your car and finds a missing cat.
unless you can somehow convince him that the offroad pipe you have there is a "super hi-flow" cat.. haha.

I say do the dual cats/dual muffler setup. The standard LEO ain't going to know. Neither is the average safety inspector.
I don't see why you would get in trouble for adding another cat, but that's the gov't for you.
I've been through several road blocks, been pulled over many times, got inspection stickers but ehh.....
Then again, Miss. exhaust law enforcement is like a rule book for a heads-up event. "Exhaust gasses must exit through mufflers"

I have 3" duals with a generic summit x, and bullets. It sounds about a billion times better than any catback for an LT1. IMHO, y-pipe cars sound like poo. It is a bit loud tho. Ok, its really loud. I just ordered some 3" Borla XS mufflers to see how they sound. My friend has them on his stang and they sound good. REAL quiet, and its the only difference, besides engine. Both Hooker LT, X pipe, then mufflers.
