Theft control module

Hey guys,
I have a 94 lt1 harness in my street rod. I looks like there may
be a theft control module stuck somewhere up behind the dash. I can see what looks like a 2'' x 4" metal box that could be it. Does anyone have any
pics of what one looks like? I would like to identify this component.
Thanks

Re: Theft control module

The factory system has a TDR (theft Deterrent Relay) and a TDM (Theft Deterrent Module). That's 93-95. In the 96/97's they included the TDM function in the BCM (Body Control Module).

Good reading, courtesy of Shoebox:

4th Gen LT1 F-Body Tech-PassKey/VATS

The TDR looks just like what it is - a relay. The TDM is a box about 2"x4", maybe 3/4" thick. Wire harness connector at the top. The connector has two rows of 8 pins, but only has 8 wires total connected to it. Factory harness - orange, pink, dark blue, yellow/black, gray, black/white, purple/white, white/black

Re: Theft control module

If it's a metal box with a single yellow connector, it's probably the air bag control module (aka DERM). It's on the passenger side behind the glove box. Except for the ABS control module (3 connectors), I think all the others are plastic.
