Temperature Rising

I have a 1994 Camaro that I haven't driven in about 3 years, except for the occasional drive around the block every couple months or so. When I drove it to get emission tested I had to turn the air off and I watched the temperature start rising. The test finally finished and I turned the air back on to get the fans to come on and the temp went back down.

Now my question is, what switch or sensor, or XXXXX broke. How much is it and where is it located, and where is the cheapest place to get it. Thanks.

You actually might not have any issues. You can read through some of this info and see if you still think there is a problem.

When im sitting still. There isn't a problem when the car is actually going down the road. Im having a problem with the fans not turning on automatically. The fans will come on when I turn the air conditioning on.

A scan tool would help, so you could see what temp the pcm is seeing and if it reaches the threshold for the fans to come on (226º).
