The halfway mark is 210*, so you're on the money. Engine temps depend
a lot on the environment. For example, when I leave for the office in the
early am (before sunrise, outside temps in the 70's), the engine temp runs
a hair under the 1/4 mark (185*), but in the afternoon, on the drive home,
it can climb up to around the 1/2 mark (outside temps about 90*+). The
drive in is a constant 70 MPH, but home is a rollercoaster rocking between
20 MPH to 70 MPH. The other day, with afternoon temps in the 90's, and
driving in-traffic (stop lights/40 MPH/stop-n-go), I did notice the temps go
just a hair over the 1/2 way mark.

Lower outside temps, constant-speed drives will produce lower engine temps.
If you're in traffic (even if outside temps are low), engine temps will rise.
With all these variables, you have to know the environment these people
are driving in. Some folks might be running super-coolants, electric water
pumps, a different thermostat, and so on.

And BTW, these engines are designed to run at higher temps.
