tell me what is wrong...also rebuild prices in Orlando Florida.
okay first off I have no space to pull the engine I live in an apartment so the do it yourself thing is out.
now tonight on the way to pick up my paycheck I overheated and it started to bog down.
so I let it sit got picked up by my fiance and went to get my check, so I went on back to the car. checked the fluid levels put some more coolant back into it that replaces the stuff that splooged all over the place.
at this time I notice the smell of almost roadkill comming from the oil cap as I checked the oil, nothing but a funky smell, so I figured I overheated, and we tried making it home. well it had the SES light come back on and it started overheating again pulled over and smelled the nasty oil again...
now almost home I start hearing the clack clack or something in the engin and no oil pressure. check guages light comes on and its got no power. no oil pressure, overheating and a clacking sound. the oil cap was smoking like crazy like burnt oil, and the rad was overflowing again.
my engines cooked I would imagine..and now I ask how much for a rebuild in Orlando Florida. any reputable shops that can give me a break or deal on someone thats down on his luck, I am really in the poor house and this just crucified me.

Sorry about your bad fortune.
Don't bother to use local shops for a rebuild unless you know someone personally. Too many horror stories about rebuilds. Your safest bet if you don't want to go Hi-po is to get a Jasper replacement. They have shops that will sell you the remans everywhere and they are warrantied terrific. If you want to save some money, you could get a short block but I don't know for sure if Jasper sells SB's. There are other sources for SB's as well. Golen is one. Obviously the less you buy (the more you save) but you will have more work to do yourself. If you buy a SB, you will still have to have the heads done. Not to mention you still have to swap the fuel system and ignition system as well.
I don't know your financial situation but you could look for a used engine. Look in the paper, trading post or with wrecking yards. With this route, there are obvious risks.
Good luck.

LT1 engines are hard to come by here (short blocks).
I have not checked salvage yards.
I got my bare block from a machine shop here in Orlando.
You would be better off purchasing a used motor with a warranty if you can find someone that would do that.
Check Summit or internet engine 'sellers'.
I could have bought a 502 for what I am putting in my 383!
