think about what?? What size stall? If your talking about that then you need to get a TC that will match the powerband on your cam. But since your apparently stock...most people usually go with like a 3k stall or something that they might use later when they get a bigger cam.

Are you planning on using this as a dailey driver??

I have had that exact converter before and it was too loose driving around town for my tastes, the vig is much more responsive.

Yes it will work. But if you havent ordered the converter yet go ahead and get the extra stall of 3000. Either way youll see a big gain.

I bought mine from thunder racing and just told them to make it a 3000 instead of a 2800, same price, and anyway you get a free stall change as well.

I looked at Vigilantes, but they are way too expensive for me. I got a Midwest converter, 2800 stall, lockup, 9.5" 2.5 STR(stall torque ratio) shipped to my door for $455.

You probably aren't familiar with STR, so let me explain. It's the amount that your engines torque is multiplied at the rated stall speed. So, my stall converter is rated at 2800 rpm. With a 2.5 STR, at 2800 rpm the torque output of the motor is multiplied 2.5 times. You can get this in the vigilanted, midwest and others.

Midwest customer service is top notch, they also offer restalls, warranty etc. Upon further inspection when I got the converter here, it appeared to have an anti balloon plate on it, just in case I ever feel the need to hook up some nitrous and spray it off the line

If you are interested, go to http://www.raceconverters.com/ get their 800 number and call and talk to someone. They can set you up with the right stall and answer any questions! You might even be able to speak to the guy that builds the converters, as it is a small business.

When I bought my Vigilante I hadn't heard much about the Midwest cept for LS1 cars.. and not too many at that point either..

I think a 2800 Vigilante is perfect for bolt on cars. I was pulling 1.70 60's in my bolt on car and running 12.9's.

Now that I have a cam in it's a bit too small.. I'll be bumping up to around 3200 if not a little higher.
