TB By-Pass mod gave me two tenths

in the 1/8th. I went from a best ever of a 8.79 to a 8.59@80.1 MPH.

before Throttle body by-pass mod:

I ran a constant 8.8x, 8.9x depending on how it was that day. My best ever has been a 8.79 (I can't remember the mph right off hand) My mods recently have been a new set of nittos. Thats about it. (the rest are listed in the sig below)

after TB-By Pass mod:

Arriving to the track, I let my car sit for about 15 minutes with a bag of ice sitting on the intake. I went straight up to line, stalled the car up to about 1k, and launched. I ran a 8.59@80.1 MPH. The only thing I that i can think of that would cause to drop so much would be the cold air that afternoon & that mod. It was about mid 60 degrees and living in eastern NC, im very close to sea-level. It was very humid that day cuz it rained shortly after I ran.

I did cut a 1.9 60ft, while some would argue that my nittos were finally getting broken in good, I think it was all the throttle body mod.

Anyway, my motor has about 140,000 miles on it and the valve covers have never been off (stock transmission, stock rear end, stock suspension, stock internals). All i have his bolt ons. I have done intake wise is moroso cold air kit & a chrome vortech intake elbow (no ported mass air screen, but is on the to do list). I figured I would tell anyone that hasn't done it yet, needs to do the TB-By pass mod if you have been putting it off.

for the non-believers.

i dont know man the tb mod really only works when the heat of the tb would normally be there you said you iced it so it should have been cool already and the tb mod would not have taken effect for instance ...say your car has 275 hp but when the tb is hot it drops it to 269.....when it is hot the tb mod will raise your power back up to say 275 or so ...but since the tb was already at air temp or colder the effect really wasnt there i dont think the tb actually builds power it just gives you back what the heat takes away.......i wouldnt count the 2 tenths on the tb mod

Predator is ABSOLUTELY RIGHT ON!! Don't wanna bum you out man but there is no way that the TB bypass would give ya 2 tenths. But you are right about one thing. It was the cold air in the afternoon. Colder the air the denser..more O2...more boom= Faster car.

Sorry..... Lord knows I wish it did give 2/10 though.

Okay here's why, you went from hot air and coolant heating it up to cool air with no mroe coolant heating the air up. It was a combination of both.

www.ws6.com, TB bypass dynoed a max gain of 6 rwhp.

I gained a mph. Definitely worth the 10 minutes it took to do in my book.
