TB bypass=broke engine?
Hey guys, yesterday I did the throttle body bypass on my car and everything seemed fine...i forgot to plug my intake sensor back in until this morning, but that didnt seem too bad. After I got out of school and got back in my 96 Z, the service engine light came on about 1/16 of a mile down the road....are these related, is there a sensor in the TB that knows the coolant isnt going in there...has anybody else had this problem? Im going to buy a scanner for my car later, but for now i dont have one.
Thanks

As far as I know, there is no sensor in the TB to detect coolant flow or anything. I never had any codes in my '95 when I did the TB bypass. It might have been due to you having the IAT unplugged (even if you plugged it back in), but I don't know. If you are going to buy a scanner just for this, you can get it scanned for free at AutoZone or Murray's. HTH

The TB bypass should have NOTHING to do with the SES light, the PCM has no idea that there is no coolent flowing through the TB.
And if you don't want to buy a scanner, and just want to know what code it is AutoZone does free scans...

if unplugging the PCM for 15 mins (does not always work depending on the code thrown) then go to Autozone they will check your PCM code for free and clear it. The TB will not cause this light, you leaving the intake sensor unplugged caused this light. Good luck.
