Title says it all, my shortblock will be here on monday or tuesday, LE is porting a new set of trickflows for me 2.08/1.625 valves, and brett did the cam (pretty large hydraulic roller over .600 lift). So, what throttle body should I be running with this? Thanks in advance

 

Ask Bret, he will definitely let you know. I would say a 58mm at a minimum, I went with the AS&M Monoblade when I used the LTx style intake.

 

58mm or Mono is what I would do.

I was actually thinking about what would be more friendly on the street, still gonna get that converted super vic from you, but gotta get through emissions first, and then make sure i am going to be good in colorado with that intake, i have heard that the on the mono the tip in is so high...so i wasn't sure how friendly it would be trying to drive through denver. also, would would the power differences be on this setup?

 

I think 58mm will be enough.

 

I used a AS&M 58mm on my 430rwhp 383, and it works great.

 

mono blade will be the best for power but tricky for street driving. Just a lil pedal movement and the car jumps so most street cars will be better off making a few HP less at high RPM and being more drivable.

 

I got an affordable BBK 58mm tb, works great. Just cant wait to get my bauer cam in it too

 

Anyway that the monoblade can be adjusted to make it smoother? I already had my intake opened up for a monoblade.

 

I didn't have any issues with mine being difficult to drive with the monoblade, it had great throttle response and cruise control still worked just fine.

 

Monoblade's are notorious for being tricky on the street and also very bad for split BLMs. I would stick with a 58mm.

 

Again with "split BLM's". Somebody has got to explain to me why this is so important.

 

Is that because the IAC passage bewteen the TB and the intake is leaky?

I also read that you can adjust the idle screw on the stock TB when that is a problem; would that also help on an aftermarket TB?

 

In essence the computer runs one bank of the motor wayyyy to rich.

Snorkelface, the IAC has a fair bit to do with it. Adjusting the idle screw helps a bit but that is more like a bandaid if it even works at all.

 

I already had my intake opened for a monoblade so I'm a bit committed I guess. I'll have to make sure I get that IAC passage sealed up well.
