Taylor Spiro Pro (cut-to length), Jet Hot Headers, & Delteq - How I ran it!

I just wanted to get a thread out here with those words in the subject so people doing a search can pick up the thread on how they could/can run their wires etc. with this same setup.

I used Taylor kit # 73651 which is the blue Spiro Pro with 90* ends. The plug wire crimp I used was Taylor # 43395. It really wasn't as bad as I thought it would be to do.

A couple things I learned as I did more wires:
Figure out how long you want the wire, and then mark it 3/4" extra like it says to account for the wire you have to strip off. Before you go cutting the wire there, cut it down the wire about 3". Maybe it made a difference, maybe it didn't, but it seems that when I was trying to force the wire w/ greas through the boots, the cable kind of swelled up and was difficult to fit iinto the wire stripping part of the tool.

Put a dab of grease into the opening of the boot where you are going to start pressing the wire through, and also smear about 3" of grease onto the wire itself before you start pushing through. You should have no problem getting the boots on this way. Then once through cut off the wire where you had made your mark...may or may not be easy to see once it goes through it's journey of traveling down the boot.

Then you put the wire into this measuring/cutting part of the crimpers, fold back the core, and crimp it. I was intimidated when I opened the box, but it's no big deal.

Some needle nose are required though, because you have to take the terminals that you are going to crimp, and kind of fold the opening over a little bit so that they will curl in when you crimp it. It's all in the instructions though.

Just don't be scared to use the dielectric grease! Makes things MUCH easier (actually, pretty much required!). I had plenty to do everything just from the little tube that came with the wires.

From what I can tell, for plug wire loom clamps, I need:

8 x 2 wire
1 x 3 wire
5 x 4 wire
to make everything work right.

None of the wires are resting on the headers, it's just angle of the pics.

If you see anything I need to watch out for lemme know!

Thumbs up Re: Taylor Spiro Pro (cut-to length), Jet Hot Headers, & Delteq - How I ran it!

Nice job. I wanted to route mine behind the blk just as you did but didn't The wires are long enough for me to do it but for now it'll look like this.

Dave,

I routed my wires almost identical to that, but when I did it, I used a 4 place and a 2 place OTVC loom for the passenger side to hold the wires where I wanted them. The 4-wire holder went in the rear most valve cover bolt location, and the 2-wire holder went in the 2nd bolt back from the front location. I don't have any pics online, but it sure aligned everything better.

Looks great though!
