Tax returns back!!! need some ideas!

ok so i got a 95 Camaro z28 w/ LT1 that i picked up for $2500 about a week ago without knowing much about camaros. the car runs great had my buddy check it out said there was nothing seriously wrong with it just little stuff here and there. some of the stuff done to it is.

-moroso CAI w/ K&N filter
-bbk headers
-BBK/edlebrock 85MM throttlebody
-MSD ignition control module
-New rotors and pads all around as well as a new calipers on both fronts
-miglia 1000 rims
-turbo 400 trans w/ 3500 stall convertor and a hurst 3 speed quarter stick ratchet with reverse lock

now just wanting to get some ideas on what i should do to it. i got roughly $2500 back from my returns and want it to quicker. any ideas, recommendation would be awesome to see from fellow camaro owners since i dont know much about them.

Are you going to take it to the track? Is the car a daily driver, does it need to be well mannered on the street? How fast do you want it to go in the 1/4mile? Are the headers LTs? Get the heads ported and get a cam to match what you want it to do, this will pretty much drain your whole budget. Suspension mods to help launch the car?

I'm sorry but isn't the 85MM TB overkill for a stock block LT1? I mean, I thought the 58MM would be too much for my bolt on LT1.

Or did you mean 58MM just typod it? lol.

I don't even think they make a direct bolt up 85MM TB, would have to be modified.

First thing I would do is invest in a Strange S60 rear end. If you plan on running drag tires, the stock rear will snap immediately. So that would be the first thing to do obviously because any performance mods will go to waste without the a supporting rear. Wish I would have done that first. After 4 rear gear sets I finally decided to make the switch before modding any further.

yes i want to eventually take it to the track. i want it to be a DD but maybe sometime in the future make it a track only car. but i also want it to sound like the camaros on the youtube videos were it sounds like there carberated engines but arent. and it to be about a 10-11 sec car. im not sure if the headers are shortys or lts ill check tomorrow when there sun out.

Re: Tax returns back!!! need some ideas!

My recommendations are longtube headers, offroad y-pipe (catless), and SLP Loudmouth II mufflers or Magnaflow catback. With a set up like that, it will sounds sick. Mine has longtubes, a custom welded catless y-pipe, and Magnaflow. I've been pulled over about 3 times and they never say anything about the exhaust. They just tell me to turn the car off. Now, my buddies with their Civics and aftermarket exhausts have all gotten warnings or tickets about their exhaust, even though mine is way louder and smells worst (no cats). I guess cops don't like imports either.

If you want to hit low 11s to high 10s then you will need quite a bit more than $2,500. If you don't have LTs then do that and if you want it to sound mean then do a true dual setup or maybe a cutout. As someone else has said you will need a stronger rear end to handle the increased power with hard launches, that alone will kill your budget. Try ditching some weight it is free, a set of DRs, and some gears. You will more than likely need a higher stall converter and a nice cam to compliment each other

Long tubes, a GOOD detail, rims, tint the hatch.

All fbodies should have those mods.
