Taller valve covers with guidepates????

Hey guys, I am about to buy a set of comp cams pro mag NSA 1.6 roller rockers. Now i know I need guideplates bc they are NSA but my friend said that i would need to buy taller valve covers bc the guideplate will raise the stud bolts up a tiny bit, is this true?? I am going to be running a hotcam on a 110lsa if that matters. Thanks alot, Dustin.

The guideplates and subsequent slight raising of the studs will not require a valve cover change. You will only have to worry about clearancing the covers for the ProMags.

The webbing inside the stock valve covers that support the "bolt tubes" will need to be trimmed. Only the upper sections need to be removed.

You do not need to cut anything off of them! All you need to do is take a pair of pliars and bend the supports so that they are totally flat. And on the oil breather, bend the side walls so that it is flat as well. I have a complete write-up saved on my other computer but i will not be able to access it unitl sunday evening. If no one gives you the link before then, ill send it to you. Its very detailed and easy to follow and this way you dont have to worry about losing the strength of the stock valve covers over time.
