taking off steering arm for header install??

taking off steering arm for header install??

whos had to do this before? is it hard, and what bolts did you have to take off? any help would be great

What headers are you putting on that you have to pull that? No, I've never had to pull the rack, but I run MAC's.

I thought most designs had a 2 piece drivers side.

Two bolts hold the steering coupler in place. Make sure you don't move the steering wheel more than a turn either way from center while the coupler is off; yourisk breaking the airbag "clock spring" harness.

hmm ok thanks, im running pacesetters but i may be able to get around taking off the colum im looking at it now

Doubt you will be able to get around it, I had to take it off to do the Pacesetter LTs. It might also be a good idea to remove the coolant temp sensor in the drivers side head to avoid snagging and damaging it when you are snaking the header up there.

I had to pull apart the u joint. Very hard to get apart, very very hard to put back together.

had to pull mine off.

took the bolt out of hte top, slid it up the column, and pulled it out

well i ended up just pulling out the coolant sensor and it went in pretty easily. thanks for the help.

when i put my pacesetters on, i took the center bolt off the drivers side motor mount, jacked it up maybe 2 inches and the header slipped right in it was beautiful. I've done the steering arm thing before *shakes head* if i can get around it, I WILL.
