It a good ideal to do that to avoid fuel from spewing out everywhere when you remove the fuel lines. Just depress the schrader valve with a shop towel wraped under it to catch the fuel.....also losen the gas cap.

It is easier to not have the fuel lines connected when you go back to set the intake back on.. you will have the soft gasket seal stuff in front and back and you dont want it sliding around in it.. if they fuel lines are still attached there is no telling where it will go when you go to put the intake back in place.. IMHO

just pull the rail off and set it on the drivers side of the engine bay

I was thinking the same thing when I did mine a few weeks ago. Take it off, it's easy. Plus the back bolt on the drivers side would be pretty hard to take out and put in with the rails still on.

Take the rail off ....youll need the room. Its really a simple task to remove the fuel line and the rail. You do need to go to the parts store and get the fuel line release tool....no biggie....the cheap plastic one works fine. I suppose you could leave the lines connected if you wanted too, but I woud still releave the pressure.

take off the cap for sure, becaue the pressure can keep pushing the fuel through. I forgot to and it just kept dumping, then I wasn't thinking later on and put it back on, and a few hours later there was a big puddle under the car from it. the shcrader valve is on the back of the intake on the passenger side, its easy to relieve, just push it in, like you would on the tire air hole. The lines you'll want disconnected, they will be in the way, I bought a tool for 8 bucks. Also you'll notice the intake gasket area is all dirty and you've got to make sure everthing is clean, or else you'll get another leak. make sure there is no oil or anything, then lay the bead down and retorque to the specified amount by using a torque wrench, this is improtant for proper load, also you must do them in sequence, do it right the first time and have no worry later on. This is also a good time to buy some brake cleaner or degreaser and clean up the intake and paint it. I used several coats of high temp paint, followed by a topcoat of regular high gloss, if so desired, although it will burn and leave a krinkly look with the regular paint. To pry off the intake, look on the passenger side for a piece of metal that sticks out, this is where you pry it up, don't do it where the bead or gasket sits, which could cause a leak
