Tach wire corresponding voltage with rpm

Anyone have a table of rpm vs voltage for the tach wire. Pin #13, red connector on PCM?

are you sure it's voltage and not a pulsing signal?

I don't know for sure, but thats how i always thought they worked.

Nope, not sure. lol. I have heard the pulse thing before too, but i have also heard voltage.

If it is a pulse, how is that measured vs rpm?

Thanks guys

well, if it is just using the coil signal then it should only be four pulses per revolution. four stroke motor, 1 stroke up and 1 down is 1 revolutioin, therefore each cylinder fires every 2 rev and so 8cyl* 1pulse/2rev= 4 pulses/rev.

Still just the two of us in here, haha.

jk... I have a buddy that is an EE, we were going to try to put together a very cheap shiftlight from some parts he had lying around, but we need to figure out the output of that wire first...

I know about harlan before everyone says that, but i am BEYOND burned out on him. long story im not going into

Here's an idea. Put an Oscilloscope on that wire and see what it does.
