tach reads zero with engine running

I have a 94 LT1 Corvette, on which I have just installed the Delteq opti-direct 4 coil setup, among other mods. I started the car, and the tach never moved from "0", but the engine ran fine. Could this be related to the coil setup? I have checked the fuses and the grounds, where else should I look?

Re: tach reads zero with engine running

General engine troubleshooting should be posted in a engine tech forum.
Transferring, thanks.

Maybe somebody stole your engine and put in a hybrid. Check that first. Does it read zero all the time or only at idle? Could be a bad ground.

Re: tach reads zero with engine running

I found the answer. My delteq opti direct system was one of the earlier ones, also with early directions. I happened to be reading the instructions on the website, and found the page about bypassing the tach filter only on 94-96 corvettes. I cut the 2 white wires and spliced them together, and the tach works fine now.

Good deal, how do you like the kit over all?

So far, so good. The quality and fit of everything is top notch! But I haven't taken the car off the jackstands yet, so I can't really tell you about driveability
