"Swoosh of air" sound from eng. bay when I hit the gas??
One more question, sorry. As I said, when I am in park and hit the gas to bring the RPM's to 2800 or more, I hear a swoosh of air sound coming from the eng. bay. If the RPM's don't go to 2800 on the rev, I hear nothing- more than 2800, I hear it. I just installed an airfoil and new gasket on the TB plate. I tightened the screws enough that the gasket is just starting to show out the side of the plate. Oh, I just did the TB bypass- that is why I was reving it to see if I hear any gurgling in my heater core. The gasket that was on the TB plate was BAD-looked home made from the last owner. The new one is def. better. Thanks for any ideas.
Is this sound new??? If not I would assume it's just be the rush of air coming through your FIPK and 1LE intake elbow when you hit the gas, pretty normal. The 1LE elbow will be louder than a stock elbow since it doesn't have the silencer, also the FIPK is going to be louder than a stock airbox.
If this is a new sound maybe you didn't get the 1LE elbow back on the TB correctly, it's kind of tricky getting it on right the first time, you can miss catching the bottom of the TB with it and it can cause a big air leak in the elbow. Might check that out.

I have a 1LE car, and my elbow that I just replaced was the factory 1LE elbow and didn't have the silencer on it either. Yeh, it is a new sound. I thought about the elbow not being on right either. When putting it back on, I quadruple checked because I tore the original one by catching the bottom inside the TB. Your right, it is kind of tricky. But, after checking and rechecking it I thought my obsessive compulsive disorder would finally come in handy. I will re- re-check the elbow though. And schedule another session w/ the psyc. Thanks.
The FIPK is not new. You know, the TB plate gasket that I replaced was in really bad shape, pulled out on one side and everything. I never heard a difference after I put on the FIPK (last year) and can't remember feeling any SOTP or extra **it after install. Maybe that gasket was hindering me some how? I don't mind the sound if it's OK. For a split second it sounds like I have a supercharger, until I let off the gas and it idles down. Guess I'll have to rip and tear around when I get home tonight to see if I feel anything diff. along with hearing anything diff.
Thanks
Thanks

Didn't mean to be an ***... just thought that would be funny. Anyways I would also recommend checking the TB gasket. It might help to have a friend blip the throttle body while you have an ear turned to wherever the sound might be coming from... this could help ya track down the leak. Good luck!
