swap from unvented opti to vented opti??

swap from unvented opti to vented opti??

is this possible?? if it is, how hard is it? i believe my water pump is leaking, so i need to replace it, also i think my opti has gone bad due to a leaking water pump......so please tell me how to swap from the unvented to vented opti...thanks in advance

You need :

95+ timing cover
vented opti
air lines
new electrical connector (the connector is longer)

I've done it on my 94.

if you dont, just rest arrured you will if you ever have to do it agian.

they are discontinuing the non vented opti

with that said, its a great time for an LT4 hot cam since you have to pull the cam anyway

Well if you are going to replace the opti you might as well do the conversion. Should cost you around 600 to do the conversion.

350 parts if ordering from jason cromer to convert to 95+ vented opti

I met up with a vette forum guy who had a non vented opti.
he was telling me how he bought 2 when he was doing his Lt4HC and rebuild
he said they were discontinuing it

not yet bastardized by their old school know it alls
(I only feel for the poor guy they convinced to get 22lb injectors for his 383 with radical cam and heads . Ehh i tried, they said i was a dumb *** camaro kid and i would gain 1/2 a sec by going to 24lb injectors )

Oops I was taking into consideration the price of the electric waterpump.



Another option would be converting over to Ls1 Coil Packs using the LTCC box.

Ya 350 parts for just opti stuff, but while your at it go electric h20 and cloyes true roller chain That will put you at his 600 mark.

i doubt GM is discontinuing the non-vented opti. If they do , they will have to come up with a replacement part. And it would be a direct bolt on part, no modifications.
