SVO Injectors Install

OK, thought I would do something REAL simple today and install my SVO injectors but, like everything else, I've run into a snag. Those little metal clips that fit the stock injector to the fuel rail are not fitting on my SVOs. Are they really needed? I've tried to bend them every which way but nothing works.

A lot of people run fine without the clips and have no problems at all. Mainly because the fuel rail is bolted down on the intake.

After doing a couple searches, I found that other people have had this problem. The reason there's a problem is because these and other aftermarket injectors do not have a full groove around the injector. Instead there are two breaks in the groove, one by the electrical connection and one on the opposite side. Our clips are not long enough to go over these "raised" parts of the groove. Most end up not using the clips, however because I'm so damn **** about this stuff I just used my dremel to knock out the outter "raised section" of the injector--the clips then slid right in .
