well i've had the miss for many years now so i dont think mines going anywhere.

i dont blame you for being pissed that your motor died, but its just one of those things that may happen.
just like everyone crying becuase their stock rear end didnt hold up to a 5k launch on slicks

current mods - TB bypass, b&m shift kit, RK sport cat back exhaust, iat sensor upgrade, air foil, ported mass air, a madz28 tune and the Powerdyne 6psi supercharger, i hope to have around 400hp to the wheels.
is this a good plan to shoot for?

thanks
Sorry am i the only one that see this You want to put a supercharer but you dont even got headers and a aftermarket y-pipe.

The lt1 already suffocate when its stock with the stock manifold(dont flow enough even for stock engine) so do you imagine with a supercharger.

I call for some headers and off-road y-pipe before doing your supercharge install

lol maybe my luck is just bad, my stock rearend went after a 2500rpm clutch drop... man I must have gotten a lemon.... (actually the 3 years of drag racing before probably did it lol just like that probably had to do w/ my motor blowing too).

yeah i went through 2 sets of gears before i bought a 9 inch. and that was on drag radials
you want to hear about bad luck, friend of mine broke and axle every time he took his car to the track, he would lauch at 2k with nittos and it would just snap. went through 3 till he got a 12 bolt

Boost=crack; very addictive. You will set PSI for 6#, then you'll move up, and up, until you break something. Go with a reliable H/C combo (LE2/3) for about the same money it'll cost to do a supercharger. Save the supercharger idea for a forged low compression combo.

Buddy of mine - Grease - ran a GM847 with AI econo heads and the engine didn't like the 6700 or whatever shifts.

IMO your at just as much a risk with H/C as you are with a low boost setup. I shift my car at 6200 so I don't see those high rpms that most 'big cams' see.

I dont want to do the ory because of emissions(inspection), though i did strongly consider it. However, if i were to wait a little while to get some LT headers, what harm would be done if any? I mean, just a month or so of driving?
thanks

Hmm..without headers and a cam, and also with an auto, i doubt you would get near 400 rwhp with 6 psi on a powerdyne. your probably pushing 250-260 rwhp now..so a 150 rwhp is quite optimistic. for you to have a shot at it, you need to be around 330-340 rwhp on motor before hand. My plans are actually tossing on some le1 heads+ported intake, and then a powerdyne 4.5 psi to hit a little over 400 rwhp. i figure 4.5 psi is pretty low boost, and my cam+le1 heads will only be spinning to about 6200-6300 rpms which isnt much rpm.

For some powerdyne discussion, check out the FI section for a few page thread on it over the past 2 months.
