Supercharged LT1 Rebuild

Supercharged LT1 Rebuild
The car is a 95 LT1 Z28 with a 5psi Paxton supercharger. Other than roller rockers the internals were completely stock.
Detonation destroyed 5 of the pistons, so the motor has to be rebuilt. The car is street driven, but raced a lot too.
1) Is there anything that should be changed or done to the motor before re-assembly?
2) What kind of pistons would you use? Forged or Hyperutectic?
3) Compression was 10.5:1 (plus whatever the Supercharger was adding). Should it be lowered?
Any help would be greatly appreciated
Thanks

You should post this question in the "Forced Induction" of this FORUM you will get a lot more detailed answer over there.
But to answer some of your questions,
Yes forged pistons is the only way to go when doing a build up for a blower and dropping the compression will also depend on how much power and boost you are planning on. If you are planning on running 5 pounds later, then I would only drop compression about a 1/2 a point with forged pistons...If you are planning on running a LOT more boost then I would drop compression down to 8.5:1 to 9:1 compression.
Also another key to making good power and keeping your motor in one piece is a good tune, you will definetly need a good Dyno Tune or Good Street Tune. I had Bryan at PCMforless personally street tune my car. A bad tune could lead to another rebuild (sooner than you think).
Hope that helps,
Claude
