Super charger or 383 stroker

Hey my name is kyle and i have a 97 Ltl camaro SS SLP which i have always wanted to supercharge it but then i got to looking arond for the best price and came across a 383 stroker kit. So my question would be what would be the best choice looking to run some where in the 11's. Need some help with the choice both would cost about the same because i dont want to distroy the orignal motor by boring out the motor. What should i do.

IMO, the best choice for running 11's is not a stroker or supercharger. if you want to run 11's you should do heads, cam, and complete suspension. you should not have any problems breaking the 11's with those mods. the suspension, is the most important part of the setup. there is a guy that ran 11's on stock motor with all boltons and the right suspension.

Either way youd be looking at building a new motor. Most guys who S/C are looking for something taht will run a lot faster than 11s. I say go with the 383.

if you choose a 383 stroker you will have to bore it .040 over stock.
A 377 is a stock bore stroker and i think you would be happier with it for cruising.

First off a 383 is a .030 overbore, not .040

I would suggest going with the stroker. Either way (stroker or blower), you WILL be rebuilding the motor. A blower will work with the stock bottom end for a while, but it will eventually take out the stock bottom-end. That is why I would go with a stroker. You can get a budget stroker for about 2500.00, then take the additional 1000.00 that ablower would cost and get your stock LT1 ported and buy a nice cam to go with it.

You are right, I was quoting the price I was told by my engine builder for the Eagle fully forged internals, machining and assembly.

Re: Super charger or 383 stroker

Im not concerned with the money part ill be using the best of everything. My motto is "If your going to do something do it right the frist time" im not going to screw around with pulling out the motor to fix **** because i wanted to save a few bucks. Thats just the way i am planning on keeping the car the rest of my life. thanks for the help and more would be great too thanks
