Summit X-pipe pictures (i took) will the kit fit jet hots?

I bought a 2 1/2" summit X pipe kit for my Jet hot longtubes. I don't have the long tubes yet so i havent installed them which means i cant test to see if they fit. I was windering if these would fit though. I pieced the X pipe kit together and it looks like it's not wide enough for the headers. I'm not sure though. I have heard of people using them with hooker headers and such which are the same, but i just wasnt sure being the kit looks so small together. Also for the dumps, can i cut the pipes that go into the X pipe to make them closer together?

Here are the pics of the X pipe for the people who ask if it's a good design or not.

I only know of one place in DE with speed bumps all of which can be avoided, so speed bumps won't be an issue. So they lined up perfect? No extra pipe needed? no cutting? I bought the Hooker collecter reducers, which unfortunately need to be welded on, so i will probably just get the whole exhaust welded. I'll put it all up together and then with a marker, mark around everywhere and how far apart i need it welded. What did you use for hangers? I heard they sell a kit at Autozone. i can't get my exhaust shop to weld on the hooks to hang them, i just need to know how long.

Thanks so much,

Shawn

I took mine to a local shop and stood there while the were welding them on. (cool shop, most WON'T let you do that). I was giving them instructions the whole way. I had them put my reducers on first and then weld there way back so they could not screw up. I'm sure they probly would have done it that way anyways. I did have to buy the turndowns seperate, I got them from Advance Auto if I remember corectly (I know it was local). I had them turn them in, on about a 45* angle. I seen injuneer's and like that idea so thanks Fred.

Yeah my shop won't touch anything without cats. That's why i would have to bring this to them. I guess I'll have them weld the collectors together, then the mufflers and I'm not sure if i want turn downs yet or not. I think i might just leave the sweet thunder mufflers open.

I installed this setup about a year or so ago. Pics in sig. No problems. I have since had it welded and all the clamps removed. Makes it alot easier to remove.

i am right in the process of doing this only with a 3" summit x pipe and borla xr1's and jet hot lts... My mechanic has the heads and cam all done and he's getting ready to hook everything back up then do the x pipe.. He doesnt think it will fit though... I dunno why all of your 2.5 inchers did.. Any suggestions you guys think i should tell him to make it fit? Or do u think he will realize it when he's under there putting it on

He'll probably need to either grind the transmission mount, or dent the drive side pipe that connects to the header collector.

Oh yeah guys, i had the pipes in the kit facing the wrong way, that's why i didnt think it would fit. I got it all straightened out now so i know it will fit.
