summit optispark update
summit optispark update
I was installing the Summit opitspark last night, when I started looking at it a little closer. I noticed that this thing is pretty much water tight save for the two vents. The cap is completely sealed around the connector and has rubber seals between the cap and body. You could easily wash your motor, and not worry about destroying it.
Re: summit optispark update
I haven't seen the Summit part, but the GM opti also has a seal between the cap and the body of the opti. I think for the most part washing the engine is safe except for opti sparks that are old and the possibility of the seal being cracked, brittle, shrunken, whatever is likely.
I've washed my engine a few times before I changed my opti out and it never missed a beat. If summit had one for the '94s I would have tried it.

that is a distinct possibility seeing as how summit and jegs don't actually make any products, they're just selling them under their own brand at a (typically) lower price.
