Suggestions for next upgrade.

I have a very nice 97 z28 v-8. I love the black sleeper look (Its got chrome rims and the ss spoiler and the rest is stock). I may get a better stereo. I may get some red underbody lighting (I will make it awesome, not crappy like many jobs ive seen before, I plan to use red cathode lights that are brighter than neon and cheap but hard to wire up)

It's got some performance upgrades. I haven't been able to identify everything yet but what do you guys recommend I get next for a good performance boost (I just want to do something to say that i've upgraded it).

So far I have found that i have a corsa exhaust, moroso air intake, hypertech reprogrammer (Not using now), I could have upgraded headers but I can't determine, I have an upgraded thermostat, and some of the sensors were modified (air intake and something else i forgot). I will probably upgrade my headers if they are stock but if they are already aftermarket, what do you guys recommend. I won't do anything like nitro because I definentally do not want to blow my engine.

I supposedly have some 300$ a piece tires but I can't confirm that.

hey man you dont need anything esle your underbody lights will give you 50 rear wheel hp. if you put some stickers on it that will add another 10 hp per sticker, and if you put a fart cap on the tail pipes man thats like 100 rwhp.

i think first you need to figure out EXACTLY what you have...

headers are pretty easy to recognize...stock manifolds are cast iron...headers are tubular.

hey irish, easy there, I don't want to make it ricey. I love the stock looks. I just have some red cathode lights that i was going to use to light my computer room. I changed my mind but I think some bright red light under neatch may look cool. Just puttin what i already have to use. Im not puttin any stickers or fart cans on.

As said above, if you figure out you do/do not have stock manifolds, get headers, another good upgrade is gears. Do you have a auto or a stick?

Re: Suggestions for next upgrade.

Hey teke, i believe i do have the stock manifolds then. they are cast iron and don't look too pretty. Here is a pic http://www.clanbbw.com/publicimg/ind...e=headerss.jpg
If anyone can verify. I think i probably would upgrade that (I know its a pain).
I have an automatic and probably will keep it automatic for a while. Im not sure the size gears i have though.

Re: Suggestions for next upgrade.

Does your shifter allow you to select 1st gear or just down to 2nd?

If it lets you select '1' then you have the 3.23 performance ratio

If it only goes down as far as '2' then you have the 2.73's

Re: Suggestions for next upgrade.

If you are sure you have stock gears, figure out which you have from above. Then look into getting some 3.73 (most common for those with autos) and a higher stall torque converter. Those, headers, and a tune and you will have plenty of power . . . for a while

I think your first mod should be the soapy wet towel mod. That engine is a mess.
