The differences between an F-body 95 and a 96 are minimal. Big difference is the timing cover, as already noted. 96 is OBD-II and requires the crank position (CKP) sensor to detect misfires. This means the 95 engine would need to have the CKP reluctor, timing cover, CKP sensor and damper hub from your 96 swapped onto it.

The 95 and 96 knock sensors are different. You would have to swap your 96's 100Kohm sensor to the 95 block, in place of the 95's 4Kohm sensor.

The 95 will not have the EVAP purge vacuum detection switch on the passenger side vlave cover area. You would remove that from your 96 and swap it to the 95.

You would keep your 96 PCM and 96 wiring harness intact.

You will probably need to swap your 96 EGR valve (low backpressure) onto the 95.

The AIR systems are a bit different. The 96 has smaller threads on the pipes that screw into the exhaust manifolds, so you need to make sure you are matching the 95's air pump/plumbing to the 95 manifolds. If you have headers on the 96 with AIR fittings, you will need to swap the AIR plumbing. There may be some minor differences with the vacuum fittings/devices at the AIR pump, depending on whether the two engines had the 95 and up AIR pump recall work done on them.

I have one from genuinegm. Have about 5k miles on it with absolutely no problems. Im actually selling the motor cuz a tree fell on my car. PM me if your interested.
