I have ~400 bucks that I can spend on my Stock 97 SS, what should I get, it is an M6. What would be the best thing to get? Thanks.

Re: Suggestions

Catback exhaust and cold air induction are usually the two starters, they are the building blocks.

Gears are nice but then you need a PCM/speedo recalibration. Several options on how to do that but then you've just burnt up your $400.

SFCs are nice too but far from a must, especially as your first mods.

The CAI is an easy DYI project if you are still getting your feet wet working on cars.

Re: Suggestions

he should already have the 2OTL catback being an SS... and the ramair vs. coldair debate still rages on

what do you want out of the car?
i'd keep saving and in a few weeks buy some headers/gaskets/bolts/bandaids/beer

Re: Suggestions

I'll post my usual reply to people asking how to spend money on a car.

Go to the local gentelmens club, have a few lap dances talk some smack to the girls, get good and drunk, pinch a few girls on the a**. Wake up the next day, if you got to throw a stripper out the house thats ok, change your oil and smile the whole time because you had a hell of a time and did something for your car!

Re: Suggestions

Put on an aftermarket muffler. Shop around & find the one you want (I recommend Hooker) leave the rest stock.

Re: Suggestions

I can tell you the absolute best suspension mod would be subframes. Being a t-top car, my body did flex a lot but I got some BMR SFC's off eBay pretty cheap and welded them on myself. The car is absolutely more stiffer in turns and over speed bumps. You will also notice the rattles dissappear.
