Question stutter, please help

Alright, I have a 1993 T/A m6 that is basically stock, just a muffler and homemade intake plus the free mods. It is having a problem where it sputters in the low rpm's, anything under 3k pretty much, and wants to stall out . When I finally get it in the upper rpm range, it doesn't pull anywhere near like it should, and has a very raspy exhuast note. If I leave it out of gear and step on the gas quickly while it's at idle, it studders for a second, almost like a misfire, then it revs up. If anyone has any idea what this might be, any ideas would be great. It has done this once before to a much lesser extent, but before I could trace the problem down it stopped, so I left it alone. I bought a fuel filter and will be changing that tomorrow.

Have you had the opti-spark checked? I had similar issues with that. Also, you might wanna check for vacuum leaks

how does it act at high rpm's? i would make sure your plugs and wires are good and that the wires have good connections on the plugs and at the opti. you could get the car scanned and see the results.
