stupid question

After a water pump install, do I need to let the silicone on the gaskets dry for a day before I refill the coolant?

I didnt even use silicone on mine and had no probs.....

But usually I give it 1 hour, and never had any problems on other builds..

Its yours for the choosing...

I would think you would be fine filling it but not starting the car for 24 hours. With that said there is no real reason not to just wait a day.

If you can be without the car for a day, why not. I doubt it needs that amount of time to cure, but it doesn't hurt.

The gasket maker like permatex recommend a 24hrs wait to let the substances dry completely.

So if you dont need the car, just wait.
