Angry Stupid passenger side header!!!

Man its being a major PITA!!!! It dropped in nice and smooth till the very end. The rear flange on the header wont go past the head, it only lacks about 1/2 inch if that. I have the valve cover off and i still dont have enough room to drop down beside the head.

Do you guys think my best bet is to loosen the motor mount and try to lift up the passenger side of the motor enough to drop the header down? I could really use some suggestions, this thing is getting on my nerves. Thx guys, Tyler

Do it from underneath. Trust me Just remove the bolt that ties the top and bottom of the passenger motor mount completely. Then put a jack under the bellhousing (or trans if A4) and go to town. I'm talking jack the motor up until the top part of the motor mount is totally off the bottom, so the driver header almost scrapes the fenderwell. Then the passenger header will slip right in. Trust me. I messed with it for a whole night, then the next morning I did what I just said and popped it right in. BTW - I did it all by myself, using a jackstand under the collector to hold it in place while I jumped up into the engine bay (sitting on the motor) to run the bolts in Hope this helps. Hang in there - you'll get it!

You can see in this pic the angle the motor was on by how much higher the passenger collector is than the driver side. This was taken right after I slid the passenger header in and bolted it up.

No, its not too hard to get the mount lined back up. Just let the jack down very slowly so you can watch for the holes to line back up. And you might have to move the AC lines out of the way to get the bolt all the way out - just a heads up for you. All it takes is undoing a single bolt that holds a clamp on, then push those lines away from the path of the bolt.

P.S. Nice combination of blocks under the jack
I do what I can. I've seen a lot more dangerous setups on this board though
