Stupid Hydraulic Roller Question

Do I need to use assembly lube when installing a hydraulic roller cam? My instructions cover hydraulic flat tappet and hydraulic roller setups, so I am confused.

Some people argue that motor oil is plenty on a HR. I used assembly lube on mine though.

My instructions also say to pull the inner valve spring (when running dual springs) when breaking in a cam. Never heard of this one either?

I've heard to not use the thick assembly lube on the camshaft lobes, it will clog up the roller lifters? I used a 10w60 motor oil on the lobes.

This breakin method is used on flat tappet camshaft with high pressure valve springs.
