Question Stumble & miss

Ok here is the deal. Lately my car has developed a miss in it. When ever I start the car and go WOT it will literally cut out then then SES light will come on then it won't do it again. I can go WOT mutiple times and it won't cutout. But If I turn off the car for a minute and start it again the SES light is out and it will do the same thing. Now sometimes then engine will just stall when I'm at a stop light. I was thinking its not the opti because it will only do it once then thats it. Also there is a loss of power when the SES light comes on maybe it goes into closed loop or something? I was thinking the coil but I haven't had time to check it out yet. Anyone have this happen to them? Any ideas? Car is a 94 Z28 M6 with 85,XXX miles on the clock. Thanx for any input

Sounds fuel related. Why don't you get the code a couple of times to see if it's the same code every time.

I agree, try changing your fuel filter, if that doesn't do it, it could be in your computer. That is what I was told when I had the same problem.

So which one fixed your problem?

Ultimately, it turned out to be a combination..at that time the filter had never been changed. And no, that did not make it pull a code. One of the plug wires was backwards, that gave me the missfire codes. I ended up having to program the pcm. Same deal though, had just went through 2 opti's. So I knew that just couldn't be it. After the pcm tune, everything was ok...sorry for the confusion.
