should i go straight to the sts turbo with upgraded Garret GT turbo and Sequential Methanol Injection? or le3 heads/emissions cam and 396 w/ forged pistons? my car is basically stock but if i jumped straight to sts turbo then a while after i would get the le 3 heads with turbo cam. but would i need forced induction pistons to handle this power? tell me what you think

I voted for le3/396. Although I have heard that its hardy worth the extra money to go 396 over 383. I think your car will last a lot longer with a properly built stroker over a stock bottom end turbo setup. If you were set on forced induction you should lower your compression, and pistons arent cheap. Just my .02

 

LE3 head/cam and a 396 wont work out that good...lloyd told me the stock lt1s were too small for my 383...if your gonna do that get afr 210's then have him do it..or AT THE VERY LEAST a set of LT4 heads/intake. i think the lt1s start out as 170 or 180cc??(correct me if im wrong) and the lt4s start out as 195cc's.

I would go with the STS because you can tune it for easy power and it looked really easy to install on one of Speed Channel's specials.

 

I would do a 355 LE2.5 or 383 LE3 if I were to do it over again. You mentioned emissions...if thats really necessary you can forget making crazy NA power, and you almost have to go FI.

 

le3 LT4383 ..the lt1 heads are too small for a 383 and also on a 383..the stage 3 cam would be the equiv to a stage 2

 

383 because an extra 13CI never won a race and it ain't worth the extra machine shop cost for the block work.
I say 383,AFR 227's and the Turbo and make you around 1000-1200HP

I work at subway after school and make enough to get a loan and buy my ta and my ford f-150(for sale). Im 18 now.

Also i say afrs and 383 but no turbo...spraying it would be cheaper and easier to hide.
