stroker surges and stutters...

Finally got my stroker motor in and running. Glad I now have something to drive, but after working out all the bugs I could find, I still have a few problems with the car. Mainly, I have a problem with the car loading up and surging while cruising under load. After I accelerate or with it in neutral the problem isn't there. It clears up. But under load the car acts like it has a misfire, surges and bucks like crazy. It runs well otherwise. I have a SES light (that I can't scan because I have no access to a scantool). I noticed that my fuel economy sucks too. Any ideas where my problem could be? My whole ignition system is in great shape and I have fire on all 8 cylinders...

After I swapped cams I had a similar problem - mine was running rich and I ended up pulling out fuel to stop the surging/bucking. Sounds like you need to beg, borrow, or steal a scan tool...

Re: stroker surges and stutters...

great. If I was to use one of those part store ones (if I can find one that works), then it would be giving me a code for the rich condition too, right?

I just thought of something. I left my LT4 KM at home. With the longtubes and 1.6 promags, could it cause it to set a code? The SES light doesn't come on until it's been running for a few seconds.
