Stroker kit from Ebay ....

Hi, I'm considering to buy a stroker kit for my LT1. I found complete kit from MadDog racing for 1100 USD on ebay http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...em=2462635051. Is anyone able to give me some reference for this stroker kit, or recommend me something else?

Thanx Marauder

First it's Maddog racing and if you're comfortable with getting a generic stroker kit where you have few decisions on the net result, then "go for it!"...
If $$$'s are a problem, and the person on e-bay delivers what is described for that price, then it's a good upgrade (imo) to any block accepting those parts. Remember, 2 bolt main blocks generally need upgrades for higher hp apps. and the "stroker kit" doesn't take into consideration additional costs such as fuel, air and exhaust upgrades and subframing, traction considerations, etc.... It does get costly to go faster...correctly....

Looking at your other post, appears you have a 93 LT1. You need to post these questions on LT1 Tech. You also need to make sure that all of the parts in the kit are specific (where necessary) to the LT1. You need a one-piece rear main seal crankshaft, you need a cam with an extended nose, etc..... not all SBC parts are compatible with the LT1. The kit includes a distributor drive and an oil pump drive.... SBC 1 is not the same as an LT1. Everyting in that kit appears to be for pre-1985 engines.

You also need to combine your quesiton about the stroker kit with the question which indicates you plan to bun BOTH a blower and nitrous. You probably don't want a "Maddog Racing nodular iron crankshaft 2-pc rear main 3.750" stroke" ..... not a 1-piece seal (yes, you could buy an adapter, but why complicate things?.

I would also heistate to put hypereutectic pistons in an engine running both nitrous and a blower.

You also don't want a cam with "flat tappet lifters"....

Etc. etc. etc.

I would also suggest you add a "signature" that clearly identifies the year of your car, the trans, and current mods. By not including the "LT1" info in this post, you got some answers that aren necessarily correct.

Moving to LT1 Tech.
