I'm in the process of building mine as we speak. I just wish I got 150K outta my motor. I got a f*#$*% 79k outta mine spun mains. Anyway nuff . I went with the Eagle Kit. But just so you know.....I (machine shop) first ordered the hyperpuric <--?? ones because I wasn't going with N2O or supercharge it. But then Eagle called back and said that for the LT1 I should go with the forged set because it would cost too much to add heavy metal to the crank to balance. So what the hell just gave me reason to get the forged set. I went with Eagle because the guy here who has an excellent rep. said that for the money they were very good and if your not full strip racing thats all you need.

Hope this helps.

O'yeah rebuilding it myself. It's the little parts that will kill you. the way I'm figuring with the tranny rebuild and stuff everything is gona run me about 8k.

Wow. $8k for a 383 build-up? You must be adding many expensive small parts.

my stroker rebuild is costing me over 10k. That the 3.875 callies dragonslayer crank, 6 inch eagle h- beam rods, diamond 12 cc 4.030 pistons, custom grind cam rebuild tranny, oiling parts and components, and little things here and there. Most of the parts from Nu-Tek Motorsports

I bought all my parts from either the for sale section or ebay Here is my run down

Scat 3.75 crank internally balanced, 6.0 scat rods, Forged Wiesco pistons, ARP main studs, ARP head bolts $640 shipped

100k 2 bolt lt1 block $250 shipped

Ported and polished iron heads with 2.02/1.60 valves $600(this is for a B-body not F-body so the heads are iron)

CC305 cam= Free, already had it

1.6 Pro magnum Roller rockers $125 Shipped

30lb SVO injectors $125 shipped

Gaskets= ~$50

Machine work ~$500

I will be reusing alot of little items out of my old motor. I had a pretty good idea what I wanted but wasn't afraid to change my plans if I found a cheaper alternative. So my decesions on what parts to buy was determined by what was for sale cheap

CMS and Nutek both have great stroker packages.

Hey Chevy......you and SS gotta read better my man. heheh. The 8K includes a tranny rebuild dudes. The tranny itself was 2400 which included a shift kit, beast plate and a custom made torque converter.

So without that I figure about 5600. But even that includes TB, Headers, injectors, trans cooler, head job, gauges, wires and misc. crap.

Good luck brother. I'm still pulling hairs over my heads that I'm STILL working on.

Eagle forged crank and hbeam rods(5.85), SRP dished 14cc dished pistons. 4 bolt main caps. Machine work and parts...$2200.......decent parts ....decent price .

Oh cam was $250 but I sold my cc305 for $170.
Used SVO 30# ....$105 shipped
Stock ported heads ...allready had them.

I got mine at the for sale section of this forum.
I got it at a GREAT Price and it was new.
And it runs great too.
You may want to do a search inthe for sale section before you make your decision.

Thx,
Claude
