Stock Waterpump Vs. Electric Wp
I have a CSI waterpump on mine and it was a great mod. I only drive my car occasionally. The car runs MUCH cooler with the CSI in place.....in fact it runs so cool the heater only works so-so in the winter. This is fine with me because I'm eventually gonna install a big trans cooler which will block some of the flow from the radiator, that would have killed the old setup. Also its awesome to be able to have your car ice cold after every run while drag racing. You just sit there with the waterpump and fans running until she's cool.
I run the Mez, and have no complaints. It keeps the car WAY cool, and really is a breeze to swap. Keep a spare in the truck, I do. I also setup a little tool kit that has everything I need to change it in the trunk. I drilled two holes in the dash between the HVAC controls and the speedo and installed 1 red and 1 green LED with built in resisitor. Wired the green on to the ground of the pump, and the red one to the power on the pump. If I lose power or ground at anytime, I lose the light on the dash. That way I know it always has power. Other then that, it is like any other pump. Check your water temp from time to time to make sure all is ok. And the ability to turn it on when the car is not running makes for cooler track runs, and burping the system is a breeze. Most guys run the car for like 45 minutes to get it burped. I had it all done in under 10 minutes with the electric pump.
