Is the stock trans. gasket cork or rubber?

Just like the topic states. I just changed the fluid and filter, and the gasket I took off was cork. The reason why I ask is to see/check if the owner before me ever chanded the fluid and filter before I got the car. Thanks.

Very true. The replacement one I received was rubber, but when I changed the fluid/filter on my 91 (see sig. 4l60e) it came with a cork replacement. That is why I am curious is to find out for sure what the stock gasket material is. Thanks. Anyboy else know?
