Stock PCM and Cam?

Stock PCM and Cam?
If I switched back to my stock PCM for a day or 2 and took it on the highway and drove about 80 miles with it... would that be ok?
I was told that for inspection my stock PCM needs to be in my car for a little bit... but I don't have time for it tomorrow, so it needs to be done today.

Re: Stock PCM and Cam?
Why would your stock pcm be necessary? It seems to me that if all your read outs are available (as they should be) then your tuned PCM should do the trick.
If not, it's not how far you drive, but how you drive. You need to drive around varying your RPMS with stops and goes, etc. JMHO

Re: Stock PCM and Cam?
Are you doing the OBDII plug in emmissions test? If so then around here as long as a code scanner doesn't show an SES code you're fine no matter if your PCM is stock or programmed.
But for peace of mind if you really want to put your stock PCM back in it should be fine.
Edit: ok now I see it- OBDI conversion. Yea you'll need the stock PCM in there for them to read it right with their emmissions scan tool.

Never mind: What with your conversion from OBD11 to OBD1, I haven't a clue.
For that matter, I could never understand why one would want to convert, so perhaps someone can answer that at the same time.
Thx.

The OBD2 computers do offer misfire detection with the crank sensor that you give up in the conversion.
